Trawden 7
The Trawden 7 multi terrain race forms part of the Pendle and Burnley Grand Prix and was one of the first races to be part of the series which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary. This is one of two races hosted by our club which provides welcome funds for the annual running of the club as well as allowing us to give the odd donation to local good causes. The race starts and finsishes on the recreation ground at Trawden with registration in the pavilion which also provides changing, toilet and shower facilities.(BB8 8RR) The race is a mix of tarmac and bridleway, the first half of the race involves a fast downhill start followed by a long, hard climb on tarmac onto the moors above Trawden. At the top of the climb you turn off onto a mix of paths and bridleway for a lovely scenic run into the village of Wycoller, past the ruins of the hall and across the historic "clapper bridge" before returning to the recreation ground. A lovely run on a nice summer morning..
