Wharfedale Off-Road Marathon
The Wharfedale Off-Road Marathon, now in its 9th year together with the Rugger Ramble are a must for those who enjoy a serious outdoor challenge and really mean it! Both events start and finish at Wharfedale Rugby Club in Threshfield near Skipton in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Over £900 in Prizes in the Running Events plus Event T-Shirt, Goody Bag and a chance of Spot Prizes for all competitors The Off-Road Marathon Fell Race has 25 mile and 13 mile options whilst the Rugger Ramble is a 13 mile Challenge Walk. All afford paricipants and their families the opportunity to enjoy a great day out in some of Wharfedale's finest scenery with a brief foray into Malhamdale on the longer event. With over 2,530 feet of ascents the routes follow well established footpaths, including the Dalesway, the Monks Road and Mastiles Lane and for those with time to take in the fabulous scenery the views from Yew Cogar Scar, Bull Scar and Boss Moor are breathtaking. The Marathons are organised under the Fell Runners Association Rules and the Challenge Walk follow the guide lines of the Long Distance Walkers Association.
