Clachnaben Hill Race

Whilst on a well earned Easter break saw this race was on nearby. It turned out to be a Scottish Championship Race and consequently had some quality runners in the field of 215.

Hadn't a clue what to expect - all I knew was 8.5 miles and 2500ft of climb which was mainly in two tough steep climbs but a long 2 mile run back into the finish.

Finished 58th in a time of 1hr 24 ( winning time 1-02) but enjoyed a wet and at time snowy run in some great scenery.

Loads of cakes at the finish, sponsors Deeside brewery provided the post race hyrdation - all this for a fiver.
