Accrington 10K Road Race

CHRIS CAMPBELL 31 OCT 2011

Great running conditions greeted a field of over 300 runners for yesterday's Accrington 10k road race. Trawden were represented by 7 runners, probably all running off the excesses of early Halloween parties on Saturday night!

Simon Kelly was first in, shrugging off the disappointment of not being able to take part in the Great Whernside race due to lack of kit. He finished 19th overall in a time of 39.33.

Looks like the next 6 were jostling for position all through the race, with John Mcdonald leading the pack in a time of 45.18, followed by Craig Eccles, knocking 3 minutes off last years time to finish in 45.28. Next up was Derrick Marsh (46.21), just pipping Fiona Hall (46.25). Robert Smith was next in 46.49, followed only 2 minutes later by Mark McConville.

Good running everyone!
