Rodney Round
First event in the TAC Winter Series.
This series is exclusive to Trawden AC members, so its success is 100% dependent on your support, so if you can please try and take part. Care has been taken to ensure none of the events are on the same day as any cross country races.
Registration in the Admiral Lord Rodney pub from 11:00 with drinks and pie and peas on offer there afterwards!
A 6km hilly road race to help you work up a thirst for a few drinks in the pub after! Starting at the Lord Rodney, you take a loop of the Millennium Green, up Lenches, down Knotts Lane, a reverse loop of the Millennium Green, up Knotts Lane and finish down Lenches! First back gets the beers in! This fiendish race was devised by Dean Ralphson, so please direct your 'thank you' afterwards directly to him.
Points Scoring
For overall standings, each race shall be scored with points from the number of entrants - for example if there are 10 ladies taking part, the first past the line shall receive 10 points, second 9 points, etc. If only 3 ladies take part, the first past the line shall receive 3 points, second 2 points, etc. So the more people you talk into taking part, the more points are up for grabs!
The Prize Bit
Prizes are not only for the so-called "Winners". Whilst there may be a bottle of Wine or Ale for those at the front, a couple of races will also have a few spot prizes and the oh-so-prestigious TAC mug for those that complete all six races!
As the registration and post-race gathering will be in a pub - and one with a selection of great beer on - it'd be a shame not to take advantage of it and organise a bit of a session! So bring yourself something to change into after the race and let's have a bit of a social.
With so many new members and this being the first race in the series, it'll be a great opportunity to get to know more of your club mates.
