We are very pleased to announce that Trawden AC is starting up a new Couch to 5K running programme in conjunction with Pendle Leisure Trust as part of their Up & Active scheme. The first session is on Tuesday 24th April.
Couch to 5K is a FREE nine-week programme of exercise to help encourage and enable people who may never have run before, or at least not for some time, to jog or run 5km by the end of the course.
Anyone taking part should visit www.upandactive.co.uk and register as a user (registration forms will be available at the start of each session too). Once you have registered, you will receive a barcode which you should bring along to any Couch to 5K session you attend. This will be scanned and can be used to track your progress throughout the programme.
There are three weekly sessions in the TAC C25K plan: Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7.15-7.45pm at Seed Hill track, Nelson, and Saturday morning from 10.30-11.00am at Holt House playing fields, Colne. People are advised to arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of each session.
Our club members and leaders will be looking after these sessions that will build on the success of the previous two C25K cycles established by Pendle Leisure Trust, during which up to 100 new runners took part week in, week out.
Please spread the word to anyone you feel may be interested in Couch to 5K and if you are able to lend a hand, even if only occasionally, drop us a line to C25K@trawdenac.co.uk.
